Which appointment do you need?

Some problems are handled perfectly well over a video call. Others genuinely need the doctor to examine you. Here is the honest split, so you book the right one first time.

Talk to the doctor from home — no examination needed
  • Diabetes follow-up
    Reviewing your sugar readings, adjusting medicines and planning diet changes.
    Bring your home glucose readings to the call - that is all the doctor needs to adjust treatment.
  • Blood pressure follow-up
    Keeping pressure controlled once treatment has already started.
    Have a recent home blood-pressure reading ready and the review can be done over video.
  • Reviewing test reports
    Going through blood tests, X-rays or scans and deciding what happens next.
    Upload the reports before your slot and the doctor will read them with you on the call.
  • Repeat prescriptions
    Continuing a medicine that is already working, with a proper review first.
    No examination needed - a short video review is enough to reissue safely.
  • Cold, cough & mild fever
    Ordinary seasonal illness in an adult who is otherwise well.
    Fine over video unless you are short of breath or the fever passes five days - then come in.

Come to the chamber

These need the doctor's hands, ears or instruments
  • Chest pain or breathlessness
    New chest pain, or getting breathless doing ordinary things.
    The doctor must listen to your heart and lungs and check an ECG in person.
  • Abdominal pain
    Stomach pain that is severe, new, or getting worse.
    Diagnosis depends on pressing on the abdomen to find exactly where the problem is.
  • Ear, throat & sinus problems
    Ear pain, discharge, a throat that will not settle or blocked sinuses.
    These need to be looked into with an instrument, which cannot be done over a camera.
  • Injuries, wounds & dressings
    Cuts, burns, sprains and wounds that need cleaning or dressing.
    Wounds must be examined and dressed at the chamber.
  • Lumps & swellings
    Any new lump, swelling or gland you can feel.
    The doctor needs to feel its size, texture and mobility before advising anything.
  • First visit for high blood pressure
    Getting a proper diagnosis before treatment starts.
    Pressure must be measured properly on both arms, with heart and pulse examined.
  • Injections & procedures
    Anything that involves being treated physically, including injections.
    Has to be done at the chamber for your safety.
  • Young children with fever
    A child under two years old who is unwell or feverish.
    Small children must be examined in person - it is too easy to miss something on video.
  • Dizziness & fainting
    Feeling faint, blacking out or losing your balance.
    Needs blood pressure lying and standing, plus a neurological examination.

Common questions

Everything patients usually ask first

Choose 'Book Online Appointment' for a video call or 'Book Physical Appointment' to visit the chamber, pick a free time slot, tell us the reason for your visit, and confirm. You will get an SMS and email with the details.

Yes. Add them once as a family member in your profile, then select their name while booking. Their prescriptions and visit history stay under your account.

It depends on the problem. Reviews, report discussions, repeat prescriptions, visible skin problems and ordinary colds are all fine over video. Anything that needs the doctor to listen to your chest, press on your abdomen, look inside your ear or throat, dress a wound or give an injection needs an in-clinic visit. The 'Online or in-clinic?' page lists both sides in full.

The doctor will tell you during the call and you will be asked to come in. You are not charged twice for that - mention it when you book the clinic slot and the clinic will adjust the fee.

Book the in-clinic appointment. If it turns out a video call would have been enough, you have lost nothing but the journey - whereas a problem that needed examining can be missed on video. If you would rather ask first, call the chamber or use the contact form.

Online video consultations are paid in advance through bKash - the slot is confirmed the moment payment succeeds. In-clinic appointments are paid in cash at the chamber after your visit.
