Before you book
Online or in-clinic?
A video call saves you a journey — but it cannot replace an examination. This page tells you exactly which is which, so you never book the wrong one.
Book an online video call
Talk to the doctor from home — no examination needed
-
Diabetes follow-upReviewing your sugar readings, adjusting medicines and planning diet changes.Bring your home glucose readings to the call - that is all the doctor needs to adjust treatment.
-
Blood pressure follow-upKeeping pressure controlled once treatment has already started.Have a recent home blood-pressure reading ready and the review can be done over video.
-
Reviewing test reportsGoing through blood tests, X-rays or scans and deciding what happens next.Upload the reports before your slot and the doctor will read them with you on the call.
-
Repeat prescriptionsContinuing a medicine that is already working, with a proper review first. No examination needed - a short video review is enough to reissue safely.
-
Cold, cough & mild feverOrdinary seasonal illness in an adult who is otherwise well.Fine over video unless you are short of breath or the fever passes five days - then come in.
-
Acidity & digestionBurning in the chest, bloating and irregular bowel habits.Usually diagnosed from your history alone, so a video call works well.
-
Skin rashes & acneRashes, itching and acne that are clearly visible.Show the area on camera in good light, or upload a clear photo beforehand.
-
Second opinionAn independent review of a diagnosis or a treatment you have been offered.Entirely a discussion of your existing reports - no examination required.
-
Stress, sleep & low moodSleeping badly, feeling constantly anxious or losing interest in things. Many patients find it easier to talk about this from home, in private.
Come to the chamber
These need the doctor's hands, ears or instruments
-
Chest pain or breathlessnessNew chest pain, or getting breathless doing ordinary things. The doctor must listen to your heart and lungs and check an ECG in person.
-
Abdominal painStomach pain that is severe, new, or getting worse.Diagnosis depends on pressing on the abdomen to find exactly where the problem is.
-
Ear, throat & sinus problemsEar pain, discharge, a throat that will not settle or blocked sinuses. These need to be looked into with an instrument, which cannot be done over a camera.
-
Injuries, wounds & dressingsCuts, burns, sprains and wounds that need cleaning or dressing.Wounds must be examined and dressed at the chamber.
-
Lumps & swellingsAny new lump, swelling or gland you can feel. The doctor needs to feel its size, texture and mobility before advising anything.
-
First visit for high blood pressureGetting a proper diagnosis before treatment starts.Pressure must be measured properly on both arms, with heart and pulse examined.
-
Injections & proceduresAnything that involves being treated physically, including injections.Has to be done at the chamber for your safety.
-
Young children with feverA child under two years old who is unwell or feverish.Small children must be examined in person - it is too easy to miss something on video.
-

Not sure which to choose?
Book an in-clinic appointment, or call the chamber and we will tell you honestly — you are never charged twice if the doctor asks you to come in after an online call. This list is general guidance, not a diagnosis.
For severe chest pain, heavy bleeding, breathing difficulty or loss of consciousness, go straight to the nearest hospital emergency department — do not book here.

How to prepare
A few minutes of preparation makes a short appointment go much further.
Before an online call
- Upload your reports beforehand so the doctor has already seen them.
- Note down your home readings — sugar, blood pressure, weight.
- Keep the medicine boxes you are currently taking within reach.
- Run the camera and microphone check on the Join Call screen.
- Sit somewhere private, quiet and well lit, facing a window if you can.
Before a clinic visit
- Bring all previous reports and prescriptions, including old ones.
- Carry the fee in cash — ৳1,000 — to settle at the desk.
- Arrive a few minutes early; wear something easy to examine through.
- If a fasting test may be needed, come without eating and ask first.
- Bring someone with you if you are unwell or unsteady on your feet.
Ready to book?
Still unsure? Choose the chamber — the doctor can always tell you a video call would have been enough, but never the other way round.
